ARCTIC HEARTACHE
SKINT MONKEY ALEX LOSES GIRL
Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley
HEARTBROKEN Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner is trying to pick up the pieces of his shattered life after a devastating split from his long-term love, Johanna Bennett.
The star and the pretty student, pictured right, parted this month following a string of rows said to be over money and other women.
A source told us: "Johanna felt Alex was getting too close to his groupies and his schedule meant they hardly had any time together."

But Johanna, who now describes herself as a "swinger" on her MySpace page, said yesterday: "There's no end to the love Alex and I share, we'll always be best friends whatever the circumstances."
The pair, who've been together for two years, spent New Year's Eve canoodling in Sheffield, but pals say that even then the split was inevitable. Lack of cash as Alex, 21, waits for the royalties to roll in was also a crucial factor in their demise.
We're told: "Johanna was fed up of going to McDonald's or cheap Soho bars on dates because they couldn't afford anything better.
"The few decent nights she did get were industry dos where they would get drunk on free wine."
Goldsmiths College student Jo, 22, told us at last year's Mercury Prize bash: "We have to get p***** before we go out because we can't afford it otherwise."
The pressure of Alex's rock star lifestyle also played a part. Jo moaned: "I hardly see him. It can be three to four weeks. Our relationship is one long text message."
The lack of cash has also caused real problems for other band members.
Guitarist Jamie Cook was thrown out of the Q Awards unofficial afterparty at the Met Bar for refusing to pay £22 for two beers. The Sheffield boys had an amazing 2006, winning the Mercury Prize and NME Awards for Best British Band, Best New Band and Best Dancetrack for I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor.
But it's a sad start to 2007 for Alex, who'll have to find someone else who looks good on the dancefloor.
